Asian Bodywork Therapies
Shiatsu/Acupressure are systems of finger-pressure massage based on the Asian systems of healing, which treat special points along meridians, where the vital energy or "life force" (Qi or Chi) is believed to flow throughout the body. The underlying belief is that blocked meridians cause physical discomfort, and that techniques applied to specific meridian points can "release" the blockage, thereby balancing energy flow.
Thai Table Massage is a very popular massage, incorporating assisted yoga stretches with massage and is done fully clothed on a massage table. Thai table massage is guaranteed to rejuvenate and stretch out muscles, and can be done for all ages and fitness levels.
Tui-Na Massage is an Oriental bodywork therapy that has been used in China for 2,000 years. "Tui" means pushing, "Na" means handling and correcting. Tuina is a bodywork therapy that was developed in China over 2,000 years ago. It works with the energy system in the body known as the meridian system. Like Acupuncture, Tui na works with the Qi (chi) energy of the patient to bring a balanced state of health. But unlike, acupuncture, no needles are used. The work is done entirely with the practitioner's hands to help increase the beneficial flow of Qi through the patient's meridian system. Today, Tui na is used in hospitals throughout China in conjunction with other forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Tui-na practitioners in China are treated with the same respect as doctors of acupuncture and herbology and often these modalities work hand in hand as a holistic approach to patient well-being.
Craniosacral Therapy is the massaging of the bones of the skull and the lower spine (the sacrum) to loosen or release restrictions or "blockages" in the body. Research has shown that CST alleviates an array of conditions, including traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, migraine headaches, chronic fatigue, motor-coordination impairments, chronic neck and back pain, scoliosis, central nervous system disorders, temporomandibular joint dysfunctions (TMJD), as well as stress and anxiety problems.

Deep Tissue Massage uses slow strokes, direct pressure, or friction, applied across the grain of the muscles with the fingers, thumbs or elbows. Deep-tissue massage works deeply into the muscles and connective tissue to release chronic aches and pains.
Massage Cupping creates gentle suction on strategic points on the back, shoulders, and backs of the legs to gently loosen tight, knotted muscles. Varied techniques use stationary and moving glass cups. Cupping intensifies the therapeutic aspects of current treatments and is a subtle, yet very powerful, addition to a massage.

Neuromuscular Therapy helps to alleviate acute and chronic pain syndromes by the application of deep pressure, enhancing the function of joints, muscles and biomechanics (movement) while releasing endorphins, the body's own natural pain killers. One type of this therapy is also known Trigger Point Therapy, where concentrated finger pressure is applied to "trigger points" of muscular pain.
Invigorating Sports Massage warms and energizes the muscles to move more freely, preventing injuries. Post massage, the client is stretched by the therapist to enhance the treatment.
Deep Swedish Massage is the most common form of massage. Gliding over the body with deep, soothing pressure, the therapist kneads away troublesome knots and unwanted tension.
